Photo Shoot

A few years ago, Carson got his very own camera for Christmas. He loves taking pictures and spent lots of time yesterday trying to get Brooke to smile at him (he recruited help from Daddy). I stood back and took pictures of the entire thing - it was really cute. Carson has also been using our camera to snap some photos of his little sis. When I downloaded the pictures from this weekend, I found a surprise photo Carson had taken - it's the last one, of Brooke sound asleep.

A New Routine

Thursday was my first day back to work - 15 weeks flew by so quickly - but we're settling into our new routine now. Even though the weather turned cold Saturday afternoon and we had a few snow flurries this afternoon, we enjoyed the weekend! We had no plans and really enjoyed relaxing, having a movie "afternoon" with popcorn, watching lots of good basketball games (go Michigan State!!), running errands and playing with the kids.

This is an old photo - from early in the week - of Carson and I playing with his science experiment kit from Christmas. This was the volcano!
Brooke is such an active little girl - she kicked her socks and pants off while napping! I have no idea how, but one of her socks ended up by her head!
Carson has an amazing Geo Trax set. This is the first track he built all by himself.
Mommy and Brooke after mass Sunday morning. Brooke is wearing white tights :). We love her little half smile!
Carson is going to play soccer this spring for the first time. He met his team and coach Wednesday night and we went over the weekend to get his gear - shin guards, soccer socks and soccer shorts. He tried them out Saturday morning with his cleats from flag football and said they are great :). We're excited to watch him play in a few weeks!
Brian surprised me with a beautiful bouquet of flowers after my first day of work. They are so pretty, the picture just doesn't do them justice!

Shooting Hoops

Carson loves playing basketball! He is showing off some of his moves....and his dunk!

Getting Bigger

Carson and Brooke just keep growing and getting bigger. Obviously it's a little easier to see Brooke's growth these days - literally. I'm packing up the 0-3 month outfits and pulling out 3-6 month clothes...so fun and a little sad at the same time. Carson's physical growth is slower now but he's maturing and getting bigger every day. I couldn't be more proud of him and his kind heart.

I absolutely love this photo. I think my favorite part is the big black bug (it's plastic). It makes me wonder how the boys toys and the girls toys are going to co-habitate one day!

Brooke has gotten so coordinated! She can intentionally reach for a toy and touch it now. I love the look of concentration on her face!

What have we been doing?

We have been very busy and really enjoying my maternity leave (which ends next Thursday)! We've had several fun playdates, played at the Chick-fil-A playground for hours, spent lots of time outside enjoying this nice weather, and just spending time together. Here are some pictures of what we've been doing for the last three weeks....

Carson with his St. Patrick's Day shamrock on his cheek.
Baby legwarmers - a great invention. Once we started putting them on Brooke, she started sleeping between 9-11 hours each night! And yes, they have little pink breast cancer awareness ribbons on them - thanks, Becky!
Carson enjoying a chocolate icecream cone.

Papa with his two little ones!
Carson and Nana sleeping after a long day of playing! Daddy went to see Uncle Fugate last weekend so Papa and Nana stayed with me and the kids.

Papa, Nana and Brooke.

Brooke and her first baby - she loves it!

Brooke sleeping with the bunny from her big brother!

Brooke and Miss Dana on one of our Wednesday nights before school.

Another sleepy baby picture.

A double cat-nap :).

Daddy and his little girl.
Carson, Brooke and I went to the Children's Museum to see the new Lego exhibit. This dragon is all legos! We met Miss Heidi, Jack and Mia there and had a fun day!

Carson playing in homemade moon sand (thanks, Aunt Teese). Mix 5 lbs of flour and vegetable oil until it sticks together (think playdough consistency). We keep it in this Rubbermaid tub with sand toys for an indoor sand box.

Brooke is 3 months old!

I have obviously been a bad blogger these past few weeks! I have taken lots of pictures of my two favorite little people and trust me, we've been BUSY!!!, but I just got out of the blogging habit. So, I'll post lots of pics and get you all caught up on what we've been doing....the biggest news is that Brooke turned 3 months old yesterday! We got some great pics, though they look a little dark....hope you can see them (and my adorable kiddos!). I love the one of Brooke's chubby cheeks and all her chins, even if her eyes are closed!
